本研究は,マルタニシ(Cipangopaludina chinensis laeta)とオオタニシ(C. japonica)の繁殖に関する知見を得るため,野外で採集した個体を室内で飼育し,産仔の特徴である産仔数,産仔個体の大きさ(殼高・殼径・殼口径),産仔期間(3-10 月)について調べた。飼育期間中に雌一個体が産んだ平均産仔数は,マルタニシで29.3 匹,オオタニシで50.7 匹となり,オオタニシの方が多産傾向にあった。産仔個体の形状は,両種間で少し異なるが,大きさには著しい差異は認められなかった。マルタニシでは春季(3-5 月)に全体の9 割近くを産み,産仔期間が集中しているのに対し,オオタニシでは春季から秋季まで産み,分散する傾向にあった。本研究で,絶滅が危惧されている両種の繁殖に関わる幾つかの知見が得られた。 |

The number, shell size and birth period of the newborns of two fresh-water pond-snails, Cipangopaludina chinensis laeta and C. japonica, were studied the females having been collected from their natural habitat and kept in an aquarium. The mean number of the newborns was estimated at 29.3 in C. chinensis laeta, and 50.7 in C. japonica. There were no differences in sizes (shell height, shell diameter and aperture) of the newborns between the two species. Births of the newborns in C. chinensis laeta mainly occurred in the spring but births of the newborns in C. japonica were spread from the spring to the autumn. In this report, we had obtained some findings on the reproduction of these endangered species. |
